Once upon a time there was a man and his wife that were working in their garden, when they unknowingly, through their eager actions to create a lovely landscape, did a horrible thing… and were faced with the realization that it would be difficult to make good with the disaster that faced them… What should they do? Throw in the towel, and try to forget the murderous actions somehow? This is the story of a blue jay that wouldn’t give up…

Christmas Message on Chalkboard

In our kitchen, we have a large chalkboard I bought from Ballard Designs 8 or 10 years ago, at least. I’ve always had it in the kitchen or hanging close to the kitchen, even in our former house, and always have a Bible verse on it.

I used to just try to neatly print a verse out, but with all the super cute and amazing chalkboard designs, I’ve been inspired to do the chalkboard verse more like art. (I even started a chalkboard design pinterest board) If you have any chalkboard designs on Pinterest you’d like to share, send them to me and I’ll pin them on my board too!

Our House: Easter Mantel

I wasn’t going to decorate the mantel this year for Easter… I had just updated it a little bit for Spring/Summer, although I don’t know what inspired me, certainly not the weather…

We’ve had so, so, so much snow this winter… the ground has been buried under feet of the stuff for months, and if I didn’t have as many years of life experience concerning winters in NW Wisconsin, I may doubt that Spring will ever come. But I know from history, that spring eventually will win out and arrive… right?

I had finished some Easter decorating with fun DIY projects this year, but that is all for the dining room… and I guess I felt that we needed a little bit of Easter décor in the great room too.

No, Hmmmm isn’t my ‘word of the year’, (at least not this year) but it does give me pause to think. To be able to put my goals into one word for this year is a challenge indeed.
