Coastal Cottage Style Table
Posted by LIz
Here’s a super simple DIY project… haha… I notice that as I’m getting older and older, my DIY projects are getting easier and easier. But this one was a really fun re-do of a sturdy but ugly little kitchen table to create a coastal cottage style table. Here’s what I did:
DIY Picket Fence Wall Hooks
Posted by LIz
Here is a fun and easy project, picket fence wall hooks, made from literally some junk that could have just as easily wound up in the garbage… a piece of scrap wood and a few odd pieces of junk. I’m calling it a ‘picket fence’ wall hooks project, but we didn’t even have any old pickets on hand, so here’s what we did…
DIY Button Magnets
Posted by LIz
Buttons, Buttons… whose got buttons? Boy, I sure do… I’ve had a button ‘collection’ forever! In fact, I somehow absorbed my grandma’s tin of old buttons when I got married, and have added to it over the past 35 years. I’m so glad to have used a few of the vintage buttons I have, on this easy and fun craft, DIY button magnets. With this super strong glue, I’m hoping these button magnets will last a long time.
Using an Antique Cookstove in the Kitchen
Posted by LIz
I found this antique cookstove, with it’s tile exterior, on Craigslist, but it was a battle. A battle talking my husband into getting it and a battle getting it cleaned up enough to ever think about bringing it into our house. But now that the battles are over with a victory win, we BOTH are loving this antique addition to the kitchen in our new 100 year old house.
Here’s what happened, and how I found room for it…
Antique Brick Cottage Farmhouse Style Kitchen Before and After
Posted by LIz
A few years ago, we invested in an antique brick cottage in the town we live in. It was in need of some love and care, and I took on the challenge to revive it into something that was once again lovely and more functional for today. Here is the before and after project of this farmhouse style kitchen… Read the rest of this entry →

Easy Ways to Add Spring to the Porch
Posted by LIz
With winter finally behind us, and having a few days of temps in the 50’s and 60’s last week, I decided it was, for sure and gladly, time to embrace Spring on the front porch! (although we do live in NW Wisconsin, and very likely could, and probably will get more snow this season) For this day, it was warm and I was feeling Spring! So here are some easy ways to add Spring to the porch.
Over the years, I’ve collected a large assortment of vintage watering cans, mostly found at Read the rest of this entry →
Easter Hope Sign

“…hope in the Lord; For with the Lord there is lovingkindness, And with Him is abundant redemption.” Psalm 130:7
Inspired by a sign from Fyne’s Designs, I had pinned onto my Easter Pinterest board a while back, the other day I set about making my own version of a H-O-P-E sign. (there are shopping links towards the end of this post, if you’re inspired to make one yourself) Read the rest of this entry →

Mod Podge Peat Pot Easter Baskets
Posted by LIz
I made these fun and colorful Mod Podge Peat Pot Easter Baskets a couple years ago, when we still lived in our former house. As I’m preparing to decorate for Easter in our new 100 year old house, I thought it would be fun to show you again how I made these mini Easter baskets.
This was one of my favorite crafts I’ve ever done for Easter. To make these peat pot baskets was quite easy, (this could be a fun craft for kids too) I just found it to be so relaxing, puttering away on them, and it was very low cost as well.
So here’s what I did:(I will have shopping links for you towards the end of this post) Read the rest of this entry →
Powder Room Renovation
Posted by LIz
After we first bought our 100 year old house and started to renovate it a little over a year ago, it had a very spacious powder room on the main floor, but everything about that powder room was a problem! I designed a new floor plan to actually make the powder room smaller in order to make it much more effiecient and function so much better!
Take a look at the original floor plan: Read the rest of this entry →
Front Entry Doorway Curtain, Portiere
Posted by LIz
Between the front entry and living room, I’m using a doorway curtain, (also known as a ‘portiere’). Here are the reasons why I’ve installed a portiere… who knows, maybe you’ll find cause to do the same.
