Someone Else’s House: Vintage Bungalow Enclosed Front Porch

One more room to see from the vintage craftsman style bungalow I’ve showed you so many rooms to…

The enclosed front porch.

This is how it looked when they went through the house to see if they wanted to buy it…

DecorateWithaLittleBit.com house porch before

Doesn’t look too bad, but once they closed on the house purchase, the wicker chairs and rugs were gone, and they were left with mostly everything on this porch being white. (and in a flat, non-washable white at that!)

So she got busy on Craigslist in between coats of paint to just about every surface throughout the entire house, and here’s what she scored:

This super cute bench, which turned out to be the perfect size for under the window.

Of course, the trim in this porch was totally repainted in a satin white and the walls in an eggshell finish sand color first. (Hirshfield’s paints)

Then with fun pillow accents this room has come to life!

On the other end of the porch, she got these very comfy and perfectly sized pieces from Craigslist too!

Again, it’s the pillows that add so much…

And that darling lamp… I love the fresh aqua color. (I think that it came from TJ Maxx)

Then, next to the interior door to the main part of the house, (this door is what enters into their living room) is this fun Ralph Lauren wicker and leather chair… (originally this chair was purchased from TJ Maxx, several years ago, and when that family member was through with it, this young couple got it!)

Now with all the fresh paint and fun furniture, the original front door is even more gorgeous with the intriguing juxtaposition of the new against the undeniable naturally aged patina of the old.

I love the time worn finish the door knob bears against the old oak of the door.

And the beveled glass windows allowing just a peek into the main part of the house, so lovely.
