Christmas Message on Chalkboard

In our kitchen, we have a large chalkboard I bought from Ballard Designs 8 or 10 years ago, at least. I’ve always had it in the kitchen or hanging close to the kitchen, even in our former house, and always have a Bible verse on it.

I used to just try to neatly print a verse out, but with all the super cute and amazing chalkboard designs, I’ve been inspired to do the chalkboard verse more like art. Simple Cleverness… 5 Reasons to Use Timers

As I’m just getting back into writing posts, I decided that ‘Simple Cleverness‘ posts are something I for sure want to maintain because there are so many very simple, yet oh so clever, tips and ideas out there to make our lives a bit easier.

The logs we cut out of the woods from downed trees and I roughly painted ‘wood boards’ on 2 sheets of plywood. It was great for a large yard. But over the years the logs completely rotted out and the lag bolts that held the construction together had nothing left to hold on to. So that, combined with the new very tiny ‘in town’ yard we now have, at our new 100 year old house, the old wood nativity shed served one last purpose… my husband chopped it up after our last Christmas in the country and burned it in the outdoor wood furnace we had there.

Which bring us to present day…

So… What’s With the Name Change, ‘HomeToCottage’ Anyway?

So, what’s up with the name change to our blog? Well, in a nutshell, we sold our home the fall of 2013…

We sold our last house!

that’s the home I blogged about under the old name DecorateWithaLittleBit.com (which is now an inactive web address) and with that home sale came so many changes and new things. Read the rest of this entry
